Terms of use
Versos is a free web app for learning a language through poetry. Using it means you accept these short, plain terms.
Free, as-is, no warranty
Versos is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose. Translations and glosses are learning aids, not certified translations; audio is machine-generated and may contain mistakes. The service, its voices, its poem catalogue, or any feature may change or be withdrawn at any time, without notice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Versos and its operator accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app.
Content & intellectual property
The poems in Versos are, to the best of our verification, in the public domain in their source jurisdictions. The audio recordings are AI-generated readings created for Versos; the app's code, design, translations, and glosses belong to their respective authors and licensors. You're welcome to use everything here for personal study and enjoyment. If you believe any work is included in error, write to us and we'll review it promptly (see credits & sources for the takedown contact).
Fair use of the service
Don't abuse the audio-rendering service (e.g. automated bulk requests) — it's rate-limited per IP precisely so it can stay free for everyone. Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse the service's protections.
Your data
There are no accounts, and your study progress stays on your device. What little the server sees is described in the privacy page.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
